It's called the Cheaper Home Batteries program. Your site qualifies too.
The federal battery rebate takes around 30% off the upfront cost of battery systems
from 5 kWh to 100 kWh — and it's open to businesses and community organisations,
not just households. Most schools, gyms, warehouses and commercial operators don't
realise they're eligible.
You're likely eligible if…
✓ You're a business, school, or community organisation
✓ You have rooftop solar already — or you're installing it at the same time
✓ The battery is between 5 kWh and 100 kWh
✓ You run multiple sites — each site with its own meter can claim separately
The rebate shrinks every year
The discount is calculated on small-scale technology certificates, and it's reviewed at
least annually and steps down over time until the scheme ends in 2030. The calculation
already changed on 1 May 2026, with reduced support for larger batteries.
There's no deadline to race — but the system you install this year will attract a bigger
rebate than the same system next year. If it's on your list, earlier is cheaper.
Start with a free energy assessment
No cost, no obligation. We come to site and tell you what's actually worth doing —
which may well be "not much yet." You get a written report either way.
✓Power logging — what you actually use, and when
✓Thermographic scan — switchboard and distribution faults before they bite
✓Rebate eligibility — what you can claim, in writing, with the numbers
✓Payback estimate — honest figures, not a sales pitch

About the rebate: the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides a
discount of around 30% on eligible battery systems (5–100 kWh nominal capacity) for
households, businesses and community organisations. The battery must be installed with a new
or existing rooftop solar system of 100 kW or less, must be new, and the inverter must be
VPP-capable. Certificates are claimable on the first 50 kWh of usable capacity, and one
battery system per premises is eligible. The discount value is reviewed at least annually and
decreases over time. The separate WA Residential Battery Scheme rebate is for
residential customers only and does not apply to commercial sites. Eligibility and rebate
values are subject to the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations and can change — we'll
confirm what applies to your site in writing as part of your assessment.
